My Theories
The two theories I will be doing my research on are role theories and Life course theory. I choose role theories because throughout are lives at every moment we take on a type of role. At different points in our lives there are different tasks at hand. And each role that we take on throughout our lives involve different norms, expectations and duties. Id like to research more on how these role theories in aging affect stereotypes that our society encompasses. Life course theory suggests that aging is effected by structural, cultural and social context. I find it interesting that this perspective focuses on historical and socioeconomic connection between the individual I would like to know more about both topics!

Role theory is a great topic of choice because you'll be able to provide research as well as personal insight. As friends, family members, etc. we take on numerous roles throughout life and many of these are built based upon stereotypes and societal expectations. I'm sure aging affects role theory greatly and I can't wait to see what research you provide.
